1. Prompt Injection

Prompt injection is a type of attack where hidden instructions are embedded in a prompt to try to manipulate how an AI model behaves or accesses information. The goal might be to trick the system into sharing confidential information.

2. Data Leakage

Vendors should follow the principle of data minimization, meaning only information that is absolutely necessary is used.

Encryption and Infrastructure

Ask: “How is data protected at every stage?”

 AI vendors should be using established platforms with proper encryption and be able to explain their setup clearly.

Transparency

Ask: “Will users know when the AI is being used versus other types of automation?”

Vendors need to be upfront about how their AI functions and how data flows through the system. Providers should always know when AI is part of the workflow.

Human Oversight

Ask: “What role do humans play in your AI’s decision-making process?”

Even advanced automation should have human checkpoints. Be cautious of vendors promoting fully autonomous decision-making without manual review and approval stages.
